BC Peer Worker Training

The BC Peer Worker Training Curriculum was designed to deliver uniform educational resources that are accessible across the province, evidence-based, and informed by the lived and living experiences of people who use substances.

Curriculum Overview

The training modules center the voices and experiences of peer workers and have been developed for and by peer workers in British Columbia.Peer workers are individuals with past or present substance use experience who use that lived/ living experience to inform their professional work.

The BC Peer Worker Training Curriculum was a collaborative effort between three groups: the BC Centre for Disease Control (BCCDC) Peer-2-Peer Project, Ministry of Mental Health and Addictions (now the Ministry of Health) BC Campus, and Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) Street Degree in Overdose Prevention. Each group focused on one aspect of the training, together creating a comprehensive list of skills for peer workers:

Certificate of Completion

Upon completion of the BCCDC Peer Worker Leadership Training, a certificate download option will appear following the final 'Congratulations' slide.

Input your name and date of completion and click download. Choose 'print as a PDF' option. You may need to right-click and 'save as' prior to printing.

Please not the BCCDC is unable to support queries relating to the MMHA or VCH Street Degree modules.
