Harm Reduction Supply Program - Launch of Sterifilt Fast and Safer Smoking Supply Update

BCCDC Harm Reduction Services is very pleased to announce that beginning next week, Sterifilt Fast filters (to filter tablet medications for injection) will be available through the provincial harm reduction program for ordering by registered sites. 

Program Updates

• Additional funding for Sterifilt filters has been received for two years until March 31st, 2023
• Funding for safer smoking supplies has been extended for three years until March 31st, 2024
• BCCDC Harm Reduction Services will continue to work to identify ongoing sources of funding for these supplies

Ordering 

• Registered sites are encouraged to order these supplies on AS NEEDED basis only to avoid stockpiling and to ensure equal access to these supplies across BC
  • Orders may be adjusted to ensure equitable distribution among sites
